Detail:  Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club, as part of Coral Hospitality, is nestled in the middle of Georgia Veteran's Memorial State Park. Our resort is the ultimate destination for any escape, from an adventurous weekday getaway, to a family reunion, to a romantic weekend, to a corporate meeting. Guests will find a variety of activities to suit every taste: golfing, hiking,fishing, dining and swimming. The natural surroundings put every guest at ease and in the mood to be creative and productive. We are looking for a hard-working, individual to work as a Bartender for our resort, who wants to be part of a team environment. SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Food & Beverage Director and Beverage Manager, the Bartender is responsible for providing outstanding guest service by delivering food and beverage service to bar/restaurant guests, reset tables, clear tables, keep the bar/restaurant clean. Primary responsibilities include: to prepare mixers, cut fruit, receive requisitions,check par levels, refill mixers, get ice, run food, collect and dispose of garbage, sweep floors, clean glassware, wipe down mirrors, set-up / breakdown the bar, and assist bar staff when needed. Bartenders must have the ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, andbe able to problem solve in order to effectively deal with guest complaints. HOURS/DAYS: We have part-time,seasonal positions available. The part-timeposition will be working approximately 20-25 hours per week and requires theindividual to maintain flexible availability, will work days, nights, weekendsand/or holidays. RESPONSIBILITIES: Greet guests warmly. Must have excellent customer service skills, friendly and helpful.Must be detailed orientated.Answer telephone calls with good telephone etiquette skills.Provide information to guests about hotel policies, services and amenities. Respond to requests from guests for assistance and information about the local area (e.g., directions, places to eat, etc.). · Maintain complete knowledge of and comply withall departmental policies/service procedures/standards. · Maintain complete knowledge of correctmaintenance and use of equipment. Useequipment only as intended. · Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly andacknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day. · Maintain positive guest relations at all times. · Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guestsatisfaction. · Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation andorganization of assigned work areas. · Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items,liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in the assignedoutlet. · Maintain knowledge of the particularcharacteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and majorwines on the wine list. · Maintain complete knowledge of designatedglassware, ingredients, preparation method and garnishes for each drink. · Maintain complete knowledge of and strictlyabide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service tominors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving. · Maintain complete knowledge oftable/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, menus, pricerange and dress code of assigned outlet. · Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy ofcontracted monies. Keep bank secure at all times. Follow all corporate and departmental policies and procedures in a strict mannerTeam Player REASONING ABILITY: This position mustpossess the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailedwritten/oral instructions and the ability to deal with problems involvingvariables in standardized situations. They must also have the ability to effectively present information inone-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. Must be able to multi-task and think outsideof the box. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this jobsuccessfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily. The requirements listedabove are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. EDUCATIONand/or EXPERIENCE: High schooldiploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years relatedexperience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education andexperience required. Previous guestservice experience in a resort/hotel environment preferred, but not required. Computer literate and have knowledge ofworking a POS system. PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKENVIRONMENT: Theposition requires work to be performed in indoor environment. Indoor activities include standing for longperiods of time, reading, writing and verbal communication and operating kitchenequipment. Exposure to variable andsometimes adverse weather conditions and active physical work involving lifting50 pounds, carrying, pushing, stooping and reaching are required.
